The aromas.

The sights.

The sounds.

The streets of downtown Norman transform into a temporary marketplace for area artists, musicians and food truck vendors the second Friday evening of every month. Norman’s Art Walk provides not only family-friendly entertainment whether purchasing or people watching, but also family friendly opportunities for those who choose to showcase talents to Art Walk attendees.

The name “Art Walk,” although it can be deceptive, shouldn’t keep anyone away from this great attraction. Whether attending the Norman Art Walk as a first-timer or a devotee, one can find something of interest. And, no matter if an adult, a college student or a child, the Norman Art Walk has broad appeal.

As guests approach the Art Walk, wafts of food are awaiting and food trucks are in sight. Along with existing restaurants, there is a food truck for any hunger pang.

Continuing down the sidewalk, guests are greeted by original works of art created by area artists. Pieces vary from paintings and photos, to t-shirts and jewelry, to antiques and more. Most are available for purchase.

To complete the atmosphere, multiple musicians can be seen and heard throughout the evening. Whatever the preferred genre, one is sure to find a positive note while strolling the streets.

The Norman Arts Council works diligently each month to bring a wide variety of artists, musicians and vendors to appeal to an array of visitors. For guest information or more details on involvement in the Norman Art Walk visit http://www.2ndfridaynorman.com/about/
